The Dade County Animal Board was put together by Anthony Emanuel, the mayor of Trenton, Ga, to build the Dade County Animal Shelter.  Currently, only the small city of Trenton has a facility; and the rest of the county's stray animals have no place to go.  While the shelter is being planned and built; many of these county animals are in foster.  We also try to foster and place the city facility animals.  They only have room for 6 dogs, and 1 big cage for the cats.  The animals at city facility have a very short time (about a week) before they are taken to be put to sleep; so we try to find permanent or foster homes for these animals.  If you can help by fostering, or donating for the care of these animals; please contact any of us and we will put you in touch with the proper pet and people.  We are also trying to reduce the stray population by educating about spaying and neutering.  We work closely with the group DART, who offers a low cost spay and neuter program, as well as a feral cat program.
